Of course they're all completely ignoring the poster anyway. (ETA: and I note what it actually says is "Please leave your bags unattended")

Update: all apple wireless kit withdrawn from sale after reports of "attacks on airports".

They may have a point -- can you honestly say you've never considered blowing up a computer shop?

Not while I was in it.

That's easily fixed.

I don't have a problem with that place. Mind you, I don't even have a problem with Ikea.

I suspect I would have less of a problem with the Apple store if they served me nummy meatballs.

No more today than any other day.

Well, except for such helpful conversations as:

Me: "I need a mains adapter, but everything's moved"
Eejit: "Um yes, we've moved eveything"
(Eejit wanders aimlessly)
Eejit: "Uh, this is the cable section"
Me: "I can see that"
(Eejit looks blank)
Me: "I need a multiway plug" (further blank Eejit) "A power strip".
Eejit: "Oh. Those have moved"
(Eejit wanders aimlessly futher round the store until he's standing in front of a row of power strips)
Eejit: "$eejitboss, where are the power strips?"
Me: "Right in front of you. Thanks, you've been helpful. Somehow."

Y'see -- already you're on the verge of considering terrorist acts against PC world, just to raise the average IQ.

Or how about "Please leave all your terrorist equipment with us where you can collect it on the way out."

I feel a post brewing.

Our PC World has had rude messages about bags on the front door for weeks. I think it's one of those very rude messages which they put "polite notice" at the top to make it all right. I think they just don't like bags. I guess this is a good opportunity to cash in on fear.

Looks like someone has tried to smuggle in a cluebat, then.

The Cambridge PC World at least has always had a sign on the door saying all bags should be left at customer service. I've never actually been challenged by staff over taking in my usual shoulder bag though. They probably only actually use it against people who "look like" they might accidentally forget to pay for stuff - that's if anyone in the store is actually motivated enough to protect their employers property.

I suspect that management is merely jumping on a convenient excuse to enforce a policy they've always had.
