Apparently my wine was left with the neighbours two weeks ago. I don't actually recall asking them to do that...|
Having a bloody stressy day apart from that. My metabolism managed to pull all its old tricks this morning and I hardly had the energy to get to work.
Lots of other niggles are just getting to me far too much. *Must* get to a dentist soon, too.
My postman regularly leaves expensive parcels propped up on my porch support beams. This has led to £100 worth of fetish photography books (signed by the photographer) being left in the rain all day in a padded envelope (I've no idea why, but they survived unscathed), and as the porch is in plain site of the road, probably led to the non-arrival of 2 CDs and a t-shirt from Torture Garden once (who were very good about swallowing the loss and re-sending - recorded delivery this time). He also leaves £30 worth of disposable contact lenses on the porch beams every month, which I suppose are unlikely to be stolen or rain-damaged but it still seems a bit wrong somehow.
On the other hand, and the reason I haven't reported him for all this crap; when my house was vandalised recently (bricks through both panes of glass in the front door), he turned up the morning after it happened, rang the bell and knocked, and waited until I came to the door and he recognised me, then said "No delivery, I just wanted to make sure you were okay mate" as he waved his hand at the wreckage. Now that impressed me a LOT - the place basically looked like it had been broken into (fairly/very recently) by someone in a really bad mood, and he knocked to see what was going on and make sure I was okay - that's pretty damned human of him, I think.
