They said it would never happen...

Well, really, they didn't, 'cos most people couldn't care less. But I've finally started re-coding my websites, after a couple of year's negligence, into something resembling modern, object-oriented code. Critically, I've broken the back of the "does nothing yet" hurdle that was making it hard to advance in small steps.

As yet it's classic TDD code, in that it's full of massive simplifications that I can enhance later. Plus I have the advantage of already having a full-populated site database as well as the old admin tools.

This time I'll be coding much more minimally (as per TDD) - what's needed now, not "what someone else might like later".

Much easier with a laptop that doesn't feel like you're peering into a letterbox to code.
