fairly political

A mere week later

and Number 10 have formally rejected the petition I submitted, because it's too similar to:
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/DontMugIceland/

Which, presumably because it's also been delayed for a week, also has no signatories.

Providing a space for public discourse and then blocking its use (whether by intent or malign neglect) is a pretty low trick; it seems that China's "protest space" trick at the Olympics has caught on.

However, I would still encourage people to go sign the "Don't Mug Iceland" petition.
