Update time! May. 29th, 2003 11:04 am
Almost a week since the last real update, so here goes:
Friday: Didn't go to the pub, but I'd like to see that one at some point. The cold, under heavy attack from continuous large doses of Vitamin C, never got past the "mild irritation" stage, although it's stayed there since. Dust from packing-moving-unpacking may not be helping.

Saturday: Met Karen at Abbeymove, signed contracts, picked up keys, came back to Cambs. Packed a bit, gave up and went to Beerfest. Met many cool and froody people (mainly to "oh god, *you're* wechsler* responses, and one "you sound taller on LJ"), some of whom I now have on film, including some nice video sequences of poi ;)

Damn good cider, too.

Sunday: Packed.

Monday: Packed, tidied

Tuesday: Knackered. Packied, tidied, loaded. Picked up car (Fiesta Zetec - not a bad little vehicle, but very unresponsive for a 1.4l engine). Pizza.

Wednesday: Knackereder. Packed, tidied, loaded. Drove. Unpacked. Lunch, shopping. Drove through Homerton-Hackney-Dalston-Islington, via several wrong turns, two accidents (not me) to return car. Not fun. Unpacked. Dinner (yum). Picked up stuff from Laura's. Bath :). Karen's bed. :)

Today: Left for work quite early, empty tube as we were about 30 secs behind the one in front. Started some automated tasks going, then to phone:

Called:
BT - landline should become active by lunchtime.
Sky - Installation set for Thurs 5th June. Karen - are you in then?
Contents insurance - set up via FD. Need to put locks on shed(s).

U Need to send off driving licence and PP subs.
Sent off driving licence to DVLA.
Will subscribe to Practical Photography later when I can find this month's issue.
Phone line to home seems to work; just got a call from a technician as the answerphone appears to have given it a slightly odd electrical characteristic (but one typical of mains-powered apparatus). [end update]

Will call Nildram tomorrow and get ADSL set up, then probably Simply to order a Netgear DG824M.

Now: feeling a lot less knackered if mildly coldy (dust, I guess).

Ooh, I use the DG814... Very nice, very simple, Occasionally prone to freezing, but nothing hitting the reset switch doesn't cure...
I often feel it may be my exchange more than the hardware....
And congratulations on the move. Glad it went well. :)
