802.11b may not be generally considered as one of the simpler things in life, but since it's letting me collect my thoughts in a cool back garden with the sound of running water (next-door neighbour appears to have an artificial stream as his entire back garden), it's a definite plus in my book.|
Albeit a very geeky one. Now, if only this laptop has insect repellant... hey seem a bit too keen on the screen.
So where am I? In my back garden, LJing through the sillhouettes of moths, tunring down the brightness to preserve *some* hope of night vision, and discovering that my touch-typing isn't quite as bad as I thought.
Long week. They all seem to be. Highlights were definitely 1) getting to see duranorak tonight (she looked *stunning*, and I'd missed her more than I often realise I miss people), and 2) more geekily, getting the home-broadband-wireless network up. Why? Because it put the finishing touches on the move, and put me back in touch with people and information.
I'm a data-junkie, it's a well-known fact.
What's less well-known is that I really need to take my boots off before my feet go to sleep.
Ah, that's better.
Yes, I'm being random. I do that when I get a chance to unwind; all the stray thoughts that have been stored up leak out, with very little apparent sequence.
But to recap. I'm in London, I'm settled in (I need to go furniture shopping tomorrow though), and I'm getting to see People. Pub tonight, Settlers Sunday, Em next week (and pub again, repeat and rinse).
Life, despite its hiccups and tensions, is looking very promising.
PS: Sky should not *be* that colour. Not on this planet, anyway.
