... is ok, in the context of somone who has broken his leg recently - his sense of humour obviously wasn't damaged in the crash and he seems to be working the tale of what happened into an izzard-esque sketch.

He looked pretty pale (yes, more so than he generally does) when I got there, but had rather more colour by the time I left. He's had a rather, shall we say, 'exciting' time of it recently - but now seems past that and into the rather routine (if not entirely comfortable or rapid - he's on self-application morphine and keeps getting twinges) business of healing.

The break itself isn't particularly clean (he's gone some incredible 3D-scan images of it), so won't heal as fast as some; there's essentially a single point of damage on both tibia and fibia (both are broken right across) but multiple break lines from each point; he's now held together with what everyone's describing as mechano; the surgeon who put this in apparently had a definite air of competence and was looking very pleased with himself after the operation (in a 'ph33r my geek-fu' kind of way); he may have been the same one that patched up Barry Sheen. The staff are, it seems, looking after him pretty well.

He's expecting to be in another week or two, and won't be dancing for quite a while, but he's on the way to mending. He also seems very pleased by the number of people who've either visited or sent wishes.

A side note for anyone else intending to go visit - try and work out bus or taxi solutions before you leave hime; the PT system in MK is completely unusable and it's quite a walk from the station.

Oh, and while he's in there, I'm sure he'd appreciate your giving his army a good pumping.

He's not eating that much (even by his own standards) - I don't think his stomach's too happy ATM, so chocolate may not be the best idea.
