I did find some under /usr/local/packagename/etc once, which was a bit of a hunt. And slightly perplexing. Where did yours turn up?

Ick.

The config files for exim on the ukfetish.info server (which I didn't set up) are in /etc/exim - so perhaps you can relocate them?

Yeah, debian server perchance?

Mine's a default tarball install. I may tidy it up later, but at least it works now.

Red Hat. I suppose most people who package it for distributions would have a tendency to rationalise things somewhat.

How is it to setup compared to any other MTAs you've poked? I've only done Postfix from end to end myself, and I found that surprisingly easy.

Debian re-arranges everything to follow the FHS which puts all config files in etc - so /etc/exim is where they end up.
