Haven't we actually known each other for long enough on- and off- line to cope when people say things we don't like? Friends say things we disagree with occassionally and sometimes we all get a bit overenthusiastic about defending our positions. I suspect enough of you can recall the post about my sister's wedding that I made...

Frankly, my friends list is starting to look like some sort of parody of what LJ's rumoured to be, and generally, in my view, isn't (gratuitious crypticism, love it). This has all got more than a little out of proportion.

Yes I know this isn't my fluffiest post ever but I think y'all know me well enough not to expect too much of that. I don't expect everyone to kiss and make up instantly, but this would be a really good time for people to take a breather and give it a day or three before exploding again.

Comments of "but they started it" or "but s/he called me..." will be fed to giant madagascan tree frogs. Comments of "who died and made you god" will either be ignored or turn into strange religious tangents that get nowhere. Comments that I need to lighten up will probably be agreed with. And so on.

In the meantime, I have to go do cruel and unusual things to CSS.

But they started it!

Actually, I just want to see you try and find a madagascan tree frog (giant or normal size (laden or unladen)).

I'm attempting to keep my stirring-up-trouble-due-to-exceptional-boredness down to reasonable levels. Expecting LARTs at any moment.

Haven't found the giant ones yet, and most of the little ones are still in my camera. In the meantime, though:

But all I did was scritch him, yr'onnah

Awwwww. I'm afraid that I don't feel sufficiently worried about being eaten by them.

You have reminded me of a habit I used to have of dropping little coloured hoppy frogs in people's laps (on, on one occasion hiding half dead ones behind the curtains). It made sense at the time.

just call me "they"

Duh of course I started it.

What did I start?

Give it a month and look at the Royal Navy's site. And try not to scream.

What he said.

"who died and made you god"

Mostly irrelevantly, this suddenly made me wonder if you'd ever read the short story that appears in one of the Sandman graphic novels, entitled "Dream of a Thousand Cats".

If you haven't, you should.

But of course ;)

and we're up to 957 so far, so watch out ;)

Good grief, was this the month that everyone decided to take over the world or something? There's you and the thousand cats dreaming, marnameow and the kitten army and string plan and mouseboks with the mile wide digestive and "Iron fist! Fifty thousand years!".

Makes me wonder whether I should have a go myself.

the mild wide digestive and "Iron fist! Fifty thousand years!"

Now that sounds like a plan I'd vote for.

(Incidentally, Wechsler, is cutting-and-pasting from comments broken on this page, or am I being inordinately supid ? Or both ?)

Only too vividly. I also recall my reply. I was reminded of both yesterday, actually.

...although what I don't recall, to my shame, is any apology. So here it is:

I'm sorry I snapped at you (repeatedly) over the issue of your sister's wedding, and I'm sorry that I didn't make efforts to build bridges afterwards. I'm pleased that the bridges seemed to build themselves over time regardless.

1) ~hugs~. ~kittenhugs~. ~kisses~. ~scritch~.
2) All these shenanigans have made me feel bizarrely mature by comparison (to a number of people), but I know I've been guilty of doing this kind of thing from time to time, and I've only just realised *quite* how exasperating it must have been. :) So, I'm sorry, and I'll try not to do anything like this again. I mostly dealt with this one by not saying very much. I hope that was the right thing to do.
3) Lucky CSS.
4) I love you. So there.

Yes, tonight would be fine - I'm usually home by 6pm. Would you like to stay for dinner (if that's OK with wechsler?)? I'm making Italian vegetable casserole (aubergine, courgette, peppers, tomatoes, beans, onions etc) and there's always more than enough to go round!

What was going on with the deleted posts there? Is it me you were being angry at? Are you going to dump me now, or next time you see me?

I'm pissed off at the people replying here who won't let this drop.
Count them.

If you have some sort of sudden moral objection to having friends, say so. Otherwise just calm down and let's get on with our lives.

Not now, especially not over the internet, especially not while he's at work. I am just being unhappy.

I propose we completely suspend this conversation until I next see you two in person in a non-socially-pressurised situation. This is really neither the time nor the place for any of the directions the discussion might or might not take.

If you have any frogs spare can I have some to dry and make into the appropriate pills for me and mine?
