Since the registrar's support dept have apparently chosen today to take a vow of silence:

Can anyone tell me *why* my registrar is "unable to verify existence of nameserver ns2.phase.org" as a nameserver for infinitepenguins.net ?

(it's not one yet, I'm trying to change the DNS servers for that domain to ns.phase.org, ns2.phase.org, ns.tertial.org)

OK, well I've applied said data to the most likely location on 123reg, I assume there's a propogation delay involved now?

FWIW it doesn't seem to know about my old nameserver in this way.

ns.phase.org is the bytemark box (212.13.198.241)
ns2.phase.org is my home box (62.3.233.198)
ns.tertial.org is another colo (212.67.198.131)

Sorry - ran out of time to play with this tonight, and don't have jabber installed.

Wil try tomorrow.
