You may (on the basis that the BBC are rarely quick off the mark with technical news) have seen this before, but I hadn't.

BBC does its usual fine job of technical reporting. ICANN didn't have the power to shut down Sitefinder, of course; Verisign did it themselves after ICANN leant on them. Now Verisign are suing ICANN for *telling them to shut it down*?

... nobody, be they individuals or corporations, really enjoy being caught out doing something really, arrogantly, flamingly asinine. Of course, rahter than correct the offending behavior pattern so as not to be caught out doing something stupid in the future, they do something even more stupid and blame the stool pigeon, preferably in front of a civil jury who reward their stupidity by ordering $millions in damages.

Doesn't it EVER occur to people that the magnitude of {suffering} might have been reduced had the {stupidity and arrogance (not a good combination on the best of days)} were dialed down?
