|| I keep saying I wish Deutsche Bahn would run our railways...

Aside: owfuckit I have a tension headache. Bloody weather.
Whilst that sounds good, lets look at it in a little more detail - this is basically Virgin & Stagecoach taking over from GNER. Say what you like about the rest of the railways post-privatisation, GNER has been pretty damn good. Thankfully it is the only service I have to rely on with any great regularity. The idea of a Virgin/Stagecoach take-over send shudders up my spine - if anything I'd like to see those two stripped of some of their franchises and have them turned over to GNER.
This is very worrying, and might be enough to get me off my arse and do some protesting.
Erk, read that one too quickly - I thought the DB bid was seperate (although on careful reading it's clearly not).
I'd have thought DB could find better groups to team up with.
It might make me get off my arse, too.
To travel Oxford->Darlington, you can either go cross-country with Virgin, and get hideously delayed pretty much every time, or go to London and get the GNER east coast main line, which is quicker, and has always (to date) been punctual.
Please don't let Virgin break the only bit of the UK's railway network that actually appears to work effectively.
