My PC has just downloaded a few dozen megabytes of SP2 for me. Anyone know if this is actually safe to install now?

What I've read this week made it sound like Russian Roulette, but it's not stuff I can give links to (not on the newfangled interweb). I wonder if the XP rewind thing can unwind SP2!?

Things I've read about SP2 breaking up till now

1) some .DLL of DivX (see NTBugtraq)
2) nmap version 3.55 is b0rken under SP2 (also see NTBugtraq)

Other possible problems:

3) It updates, without choice, Media Player to version 9
4) It re-installs Windows Messenger
(remove with: "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove")
