Making up for a missing monday Aug. 31st, 2004 11:26 am
Today is sucking.

Both of us slept through the alarm this morning. I then couldn't find a pair of jeans that fit (I've evidently put on a fair bit of weight quite quickly recently), got a train that wobbled the entire way to work, and didn't get in until after 9:30.

Somehow I need to work exercise back into my life. I have no wish to start losing tone and gaining weight.

My hair, which looked great last night, looks streaky and crap this morning. Might avoid that dye in future.

On getting into work I went back to tackling the semantic webpage conversion I started on Friday, and found an absolute positioning bug that manifested in IE6 and IE5.5, but NOT IE5.01, moz or opera 7.12. Had to build the following headfuck of a CSS hack to compensate for it:

#quotepanel { left: 388px; }
* html #quotepanel {
/* ALL IE in here, no Moz */
left/* */: 366px; /* IE 5.5, 6 see this */
}

Now I have an email to generate and content to put into a website. This will undoubtedly cause more trouble than it should.

May I as usual recommend a Metric Shitload of situps.

That CSS is unspeakable. I would be tempted to just shut out all versions of IE with a sneering suggestion to get a browser less manky and festering.

I can try to sort your hair out tonight - I think there's still some semi-permanent Live stuff around which I can use to camoflage the streaks until the tone evens out a bit.

After AOL, I hate ....

Cascading style sheets are the work of the devil. Haven't had to deal with them in a while and I'm nothing but grateful

Cascading style sheets are great. Browser support for them, however, is hell given form.
