"It's like putting a licence plate on every book, and it means we'd be able to track the movements of each and every title published."

Wouldn't you love security personnel (and goddess knows who else) to be able to tell what you had in your bag without your knowledge?

*pout* Oh well, there goes my fun in Forbidden Planet.

Not stealing books, mind you. I used to enjoy taking the little tags out of paperbacks (the thin pieces of card with the metal spiral in them) and then dropping them into the open pockets of anyone trying to negotiate the shelving with a huge and semi-open rucksack.

Oh the hilarity!
