You might be interested in the Rat Fan Club's response, particularly the letter from the American Humane society (just below the press release statement). AH can only produce guidelines for filming, which are not legally enforceable - and the producers of Fear Factor refuse to abide by those guidelines, claiming they do not apply to so-called "reality TV".
