I find it *so* hard to comprehend the point of the segway, my brain hurts just from thinking about it.
Yeah, it's immensely obvious, but it's all I can think of to say on the subject, and I'm bored.
Ugh. The old 'porn objectifies women' argument. This one should have died a long, long time ago.
Porn doesn't cause rape. Porn doesn't prevent rape. Very many healthy men and women who would never commit any act of sexual aggression look at porn; in fact the majority of the population have read or seen pornography of one sort of another.
So the Labour party gets money from a publisher whose output includes some pornographic magazines. I have no problem with this; historically, Labour has always supported freedom of speech and been anti-censorship; witness the recent relaxation of the rules regarding film censorship and the Obscene Publications Act. It shouldn't matter who's supporting the party (as long as it's not terrorists or criminals), as long as it doesn't impact on policy-making.
Anyway, why is this news now? Labour has had an open list of donors for years; anyone who wants to can check it. This smacks of gratuitous muck-raking, or of a slow news day.
