I've been out and about in hotter - not entirely voluntarily, though. It was paid work. The trick was to have the hat and sunscreen and add a tshirt that was soaked with water. This works.
So've I - but it's gonna be hell in the tube again. Such tempearatures should only be experienced at leisure times, either on or directly adjacent to large bodies of inviting water.
Or underneath large bodies of inviting water.
Over 30 all week. Good lord. I think I might be wearing gigging shirts at work.
With you on the underneath the water bit. Crikey. Time to relocate my desk into the back office I think, so that I can get some of the benefit of the aircon! Oh, wait, I can't. I have to answer the phone and there's no phone socket there. Grr.
Time for a *very long* extension cable.
*nods* I may send out Mr Boss to buy one. :)
Either that or a cheap wireless (DECT) phone.
We do have a 'portable' phone but it only answers one of the lines that come in, which is slightly less than useless, as we have 5!
No phone socket in the back office? Really? That's primitive.
Hmmm - extension cord from Currys or Argos?
There are phone sockets, but they are at the two occupied desks. A trip to Curry's or Argos is definitely on the cards!
I think the large body of water in the sky on Thursday will look very inviting. I’m worried that although some of it will fall, it will still be 30C even then.
A wet shirt lasted us almost an hour. Potentially the trick could work for most of a commute. I'm not sure if it's practical in other ways, though.
Phuck. I have a job interview that day.
Crap. That's not good....
